Information
A number of accessories are necessary
or convenient for the practice of archery: protection for the
drawing fingers and wrist, a place to carry extra arrows and perhaps
an archer's wallet for the small articles one takes on an outing.
I make all my leather goods by hand of highest quality materials.
Quivers and Wallets are hand stitched with shoemaker's cord using
the traditional double needle technique. Heavy thong is used in
the Latigo Laced Quivers, and calf lacing for the lighter Quivers.

Personal preference alone determines
the choice of which style of quiver to use. I offer three styles:
the back quiver, shown, the belt quiver, which has a loop that
fastens to your belt, and the side or shoulder quiver, modeled
on the Native American type.
The Bracer
Necessary to protect the bow arm
as well as providing a smooth surface for the string to strike,
the Bracer or Armguard also keeps any shirtsleeve or coat tied
back so it won't deflect the string and spoil the shot.

Cuff Style
These are sometimes confused with the
cuffs worn on both wrists by some medieval reenactors. While these
can be used in this way, in archery the Bracer is usually worn
only on the arm that holds the bow. Please specify which arm you
will be wearing it on. My Bracer is made of 8-10 oz. Latigo with
eyelets on one side and lace hooks for quick attachment on the
other.

Buckle Style
A smaller bracer, similar to those commonly
seen in many earlier cultures.
The Fingerguard

The simplest protection for the drawing fingers
is the tab, a single piece of tough leather. There are several
designs and I make two: the Marshall tab, (designed by Jule Marshall
in the early 20th century) with one hole for the middle finger
and the older, two hole tab.
The Archer's Wallet
Most archers find that they carry a
number of small articles with them on outings in the field or
to the range: an extra string, wax, extra points, a small knife,
pliers, and other equipment. Traditionally a small pouch or wallet
worn on a waist belt was carried to contain these accessories.
My version of the Archer's Wallet is from a 14th century design
that is often seen in pictures of archers of that period. Choose
either the brass buckle or the antler button and thong style closure.
This simple addition to your tackle will become your vade mecum,
and all your small needs will always be handy.
